Pitching
Send a short pitch — no more than 300 words — to [pitches email]. Tell us what you want to argue or report, why it matters now, why you are the right person to write it, and any relevant interests we should know about. Do not send finished drafts unless asked.
What we look for
- An original argument or new reporting, not a summary of the news.
- Clear, plain English. Explain technical terms.
- Evidence: every factual claim must be supported by a link or source you can share with our editors.
Editing and fact-checking
All contributions are edited and checked against our Editorial Standards. You will see the final edit before publication. Contributors must disclose any conflict of interest; undisclosed conflicts may lead to a piece being withdrawn.
